Labelle is a small city located in Hendry County. This city was founded in 1909, when Francis Hendry named the area Labelle, after his two daughters Laura and Belle. This city is nestled along the southern shore of the Caloosahatchee River. Labelle has a festival during February that is held in honor of the state tree, the Cabbage Palm. This celebration, the Swamp Cabbage Festival, has a 5K walk/run, a beauty pageant, and a rodeo. Celebrities have moved to Labelle to escape the big city life. Bill and Martín Gramática, both famous football players, live within Labelle. The major business and entertain districts are on Hickpochee Avenue and Main Street in Labelle. This town has its own municipal airport and I-75 is just 30 minutes from town.
