About Anona
Anona is a community located in Pinellas County, in the Tampa-St. Petersburg Metro area. The name derives from the Spanish sweet apples "Annona". Anona was originally founded in 1883 by Captain John Thomas Lowe and named Lowe's Landing. Later the name was changed to Anona. Originally Anona was part of Hillsborough County, later becoming part of Pinellas County. The majority of the community of Anona is now part of the larger area of Largo and the original area of Anona id now the property of Randolph Farms. Anona is most remembered for it's original church and cemetery which are still around today.
